Yard dogs roadshow
More chronicles from my life:
Last week the Yard dogs Roadshow from California came into town to perform at the Opera house. There was an incredible vibe as soon as they got off their bus, and Layton and Anahata were the first ones I met....peering into the Band of Gypsies like a single tribe kept apart for unknown frequencies( our gallery being part of the Opera house building). Throughout the day smiling, waving, introducing , it was all very easy. I got put on the guest list, and the show....what a show it was.
A Vaudevillian burlesque visual feast to the eyes was what it was. A groovy band, with trumpets, guitars, saxophones, tap dancing accordianists, drummers, sword swallowers, fire eaters, burlesque dancers and all with a mystic flare of days gone by. Needless to say I caused a ruckus with my hooting and hollering, and the party continued at the gallery till 4 am,
where I got to meet and hang out with Norton P Electric, Sidecar Tommy, Five livered Larry, BBJ (Big Big Jim), Lily Rose Love who gave me the Ace of diamonds, Eenor Wildboar who played the guitar and a host of lovely people who welcomed me to join them on their roadshow.
Here are a few pages from my sketchbook inspired during and after their visit to Toronto.
Love,
Prash
