The magic of today

I climbed up a hill at sunset, and passed an abandoned village in ruins along the way, up on the hill I came across the base of an ancient pillar that had toppled over, and an old man seeing me from down below, climbed all the way to the top to have a chat with me. It was wonderful.

You know what I mean

Today:
My camel's name was Michael.
Papu the Bhopa musician was magical.
Meditated on the shifting sands of time.
Did a watercolour of Papu and gave it to him.
Thank you one and all.

Jaisalmer

I'm here in Jaisalmer now as part of a commission to document Suryagarh. Suryagarh is a unique hotel, built in the likeness of a fort.....in the desert of Rajasthan. I've only been here for a couple of days and it has already been magical. Here are a few watercolours that I've begun doing of the incredible structure, ambience and experience that I'm living in right now. I'm going to be here this week, so watch out for more.

While at Goa

I spent a month in Goa finishing the next book in a series of children's books that I am working on.....with 'air', 'sea' and 'land' themes.

It's all quite exciting, working on the 'sea' book on the beach, painting with sea water, and when I finished the last spread, a dolphin jumped out of the water. Quite magical indeed. Here are some spreads from my sketchbook, and a sneak peek at what I've been doing.
